'Full On Ferry' Makes a Stop at Freedom 2013

The annual May long weekend can only mean one thing for many electronic music fans in Toronto; the all access event at Guvernment/KoolHaus complex – Freedom 2013.
On Sunday, Ferry Corsten made a stop at Guvernment as part of his revived “Full on Ferry” tour. The “Full on Ferry” concept that was created in 2007, where Corsten welcomed DJs internationally to play back to back sets regardless of their style and genre. The 2013 lineup with includes the electro-house Dutch sensations, Bassjackers and once again, Tritonal was back in Toronto for the tour as well. Read more
Armin van Buuren's Intense Explores The Modern Sounds of EDM

The leading force in today’s trance scene and reigning DJ Mag #1 Armin van Buuren has returned with his first album since 2010. The follow up to Mirage titled Intense is in every sense of the word, an album. Of course the LP has a strong trance presence, but it is the exploration of different musical genres that makes this album a stand out. Third Times The Charm As Funkagenda Finally Set To Play Uniun

Tonight at Uniun Nightclub we will FINALLY be getting deep, dark, and downright destructive with progressive house mastermind Funkagenda. The British producer was originally scheduled to play Uniun back in December, and again in February but unique situations led him to postpone both shows. The good news is that the date for his return has finally arrived, and Toronto is buzzing with anticipation.
Joining the British producer is a slew of other artists including Popeska, Dallas K, and Charlie Darker.
Electronic Dance Music To Motivate Leafs Nation

Watching our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs get dominated from start to finish last night wasn’t pretty. Sure there were flashes of what the young team is actually capable of, but the experience of the Bruins highlighted the inexperience of the Leafs. Simply put, they looked flat. It has been 9 years since the playoffs and that’s our valiant return? C’mon, where’s the motivation? It got me thinking about my days of Junior hockey and what motivated me, and number one was always music. Today’s players wear earphones while dressing, have sound systems in the dressing rooms, and when at home they pick what plays during their 20 minute warm-up. Music has the ability to make us feel bigger, stronger, and inspired to tackle the challenges that lay ahead of us.

With millions across the globe glued to their computers for one of the most anticipated Ultra Music Festival performances on 2013, Swedish producer Avicii used his time on stage to once again shock the world of dance music. The established star had been actively sharing his excitement for the set via social media and fan expectation had never been higher. What fans didn’t expect however, was the diverse spectrum of music that highlighted a short UMF TV broadcast on YouTube. Almost immediately following the performance fans went on the attack.
