Tiësto in the First Ever Live Twitter Concert 12/01/12
On January 11th (but technically the 12th) 2012, thousands of people logged onto twitter.com/HP for the first ever streaming of a live concert on Twitter. Everyone became a part of social media history as Dutch DJ Tiësto put on an captivating 90 minute live performance in Las Vegas, at the XS Nightclub. With the help of HP and Intel Tiësto was able to give his Las Vegas crowd a stunning show filled with breathtaking video, numerous confetti cannons, and a symphony of lights. Tiësto took the stage at 2am, (Eastern Time) and kick started the night with his widely recognized track he produced with Hardwell,“Zero76”. He immediately showcased his undeniable talent by seamlessly transitioning into “Turn It Down” by Kaskade feat. Rebecca & Fiona (Deniz Koyu Remix). It was evident that Tiesto’s audience was not his regular kind of audience. Meaning that, most people in the club didn’t seem to have very much experience with electronic music. But for the people who are true fans of electronic dance music, the show was a definite success! And when Tiësto took the mic and introduced his good friend Avicii’s club banger “Levels”, it was easy to see that Tijs was having just as much fun as we were. I have been to 8 Tiësto shows this year, and I predicted pretty well which tracks he was going to play. But nevertheless, one of the songs worth mentioning still is “Set fire to the rain” (Thomas Gold remix). I have yet to hear Tiësto play this song live! The grand finale was nothing less than spectacular, and even though the feed had been cut rather abruptly it still didn’t take away from the fact that “maximal crazy” (R3hab & Swanky Tunes remix) ended the show the exact same way the show started – EPIC!
